1)
The Menstruation
The menstrual cycle it usually lasts
about 28 days, but it is considered normal that it lasts
between 21 and 35 days. It begins with the first day of
blood loss, that is to say, of bled, and finishes the day
previous to the following period. The menstruation is the
part of the menstrual cycle in which the bled takes place
and usually lasts between 3 and 7 days. The amount of menstrual
flow that is lost per period varies very much from woman
to woman, being able to go from only 9 g to more than 350
g.
The average amount, nevertheless, is of about a 70-80 g,
which is equivalent approximately to the volume of a cup
of tea. But not always will you have the same amount of
menstrual flow. You will observe that it varies from the
day it begins, being greater in the beginning of the period
that in the end. In fact, 90% are emitted during the first
3 days of the menstruation. We cannot speak of the feminine
hormonal system like something isolated, but that we must
focus it from an integral conception.
The fundamental thing is to aim at the health and the balance.
If we learn to know our feminine nature we will manage to
live in harmony, and case of imbalance, we will generate
malaise and diseases. Nature is very wise, exists a period
for the conception and another one of rest, beginning a
new stage of the life. If we understand the natural cycles
and we respected them, we should not need to force our body
with artificial substances. Many menstrual upheavals without
apparent cause, obey to the accelerated pace of the present
life, which is commonly known as stress. In general terms,
women undergo stress because they have not learned to be
themselves.
The roll of the woman in western society impels us to deny
the deepest sense of the femininity, in favour of social
patterns of behaviour, appearance and participation at work
or family that prioritise outer values ("to live towards
outside", to live according to your spouse, of your
family, your work.), relegating to background our rich inner
processes: physical, emotional and mental. Forgetting that,
it is exactly there where our creative potential lays.
2)
The Physiological Processes of the
Menstrual cycle
The menstrual cycle can be divided in four phases:
- The menstrual phase (the matrix is come off its coating).
- The phase pre-ovulation (the ovarian follicles mature).
- The phase ovulation (the ovary gives off a mature ovum).
- The premenstrual phase - to the istrogen levels and progesterone
lower.
The menstruation supposes the end of a cycle and the beginning
of the next. The first day of the bled is "day one
". If it does not take place the conception and implantation
of the ovum between the ten and sixteen days later to the
ovulation, the body lets prepare itself for a possible pregnancy.
The coating of the matrix breaks down and is expelled by
means of the loss of blood. In the premenstrual phase the
woman can feel depressed, tense, uncomfortable. Backache
or sore breasts can happen during the days previous to the
bled.
The conventional medicine (from a masculine approach) tends
to overvalue "the reproductive" phase of the cycle
(the ovulation) and usually sees the woman fundamentally
like breeder, despising therefore the menstrual period.
This bleeding thus despised gave origin to the "Premenstrual
Syndrome "(SPM). The menstruation wasn't well considered
and that is noticed in expressions like: "to be with
the curse", "to be ill" or "this of
bad moon".
Expressions of these kind do not speak of health but of
disease. And we should not forget that the woman's period
is the source of new life. This rejection of the menstruation
symbolizes the rejection of the femininity. The taboo that
surrounds the menstruation favours in many women the lack
of self-confidence and self-acceptance. It is very probable
that if the society saw the menstruation from another optics,
many menstrual upheavals would disappear and among them
the Premenstrual Syndrome.
The word "syndrome "already has a so powerful
force that it practically turns it a disease. Perhaps they
would change the things if it were spoken of "the premenstrual
force". Anyway we cannot deny that the SPM exists and
that according to its intensity must be treated from an
integral approach. It would be important to change the medical
attitude and social towards to the menstruation, the childbirth
and the menopause, considering them normal stages of the
woman and not as it often happens like diseases. When the
woman has not paid attention to her needs, the repressed
emotions, when not having a suitable language to express
itself, are expressed through the body as a disease or affects
psychic and emotionally, as irritability, hypersensitivity
and even the propensity to have accidents. The menstrual
cycle has two culminating poles: the ovulation and the menstruation.
From
the ovulation to the moment of the bled, the maximum point
of sexuality is pronounced and this allows to reach to all
the creative energy, and to direct all the energies inwardly.
When the end of menstruation arrives, that is the bled one,
we move with renewed energy towards the outer activity,
again towards the ovulation. If we became aware of the energies
that move in the cycle as a whole, the transition from a
state to the next one it is easier. Just the fact to know
our cycles and the emotions which they wake up, lightened
our life.
"The
period is the symbol of a healthy body that is in connexion
with the Mother Nature."
It
is when the menstruation, as something totally normal, is
not accepted, that the famous symptoms of the SPM happen.
Many women live the retirement on the menstruation with
happiness, without the problems that supposedly this one
carries.
The
ideal would be the acceptance of this period that repeats
month to month and to learn the walk through it taking advantage
of it. Normally during the menstruation the woman is more
conscious of their body, goes inwards and takes advantage
of that moment for a greater contact with itself. The menstruation
would have to be a period of reflection and meditation.
Hypersensitivity (sharpening of the senses) must be taken
advantage of to become aware of colours, sounds, flavours
and other sensations. It is possible to develop the creativity.
The
positive thought helps to love our body and its functions,
this elevates the positive image of itself. In the past,
the healers used the menstruation like inspiration source
since the visions and prophecies appeared with greater clarity,
the women controlled agriculture thanks to the observation
of the moon and their cycles.
The
bled allows to make contact with a deeper layer of the internal
life, dreams, desires, intuitions etc. The physical and
emotional symptoms that usually appear, represent a conflict
between the conscientious attitude and those that we left
in the drawer or we repressed, the unconscious ones. From
spiritual point of view the menstruation it is considered
like "the symbol of the unit". Like the cycles
of the moon and the plants, the menstruation represents
the regeneration of the life. It often happens that sexual
desire increases during the premenstrual phase, like also
that is rejection to the sexual relations during that moment.
The
increase of the sexual energy implies totality and desire
of one more a deeper privacy, and it is not simply increase
of the sexual appetite. There is a initiating sexuality
that arrives at its summit during this phase, where the
passion and the creativity are in its culminating point.
Anyway, each woman is a unique being and individual and
what she will feel then it would have to be respected. Natural
or alternative remedies for the painful menstruations: ·
Place a hot water stock market in the area of the abdomen
or to apply leaves of cabbage previously flattened and on
a these electrical pad or hot cloth ·

3)
Premenstrual syndrome (SPM)
Days before the menstruation it increases the estrogens,
and it affects the neurotransmitters that are messenger
chemistries. This favours the increase of the Adrenalin
and Nor adrenaline. Taking place an increase of the anxiety
and irritability. It diminishes Serotonin and the Dopamine.
The SPM is alleviated very much with a natural diet and
oil massages of primly.
4)
Excessive bleeding
It is not very simple to say what amount of blood is normal
that it lowers. It is important to observe if thick pads
are soaked, if the sheets are stained at night or stains
the clothes at night. The excessive periods can respond
to hormonal imbalances, the DIU, polyps, the endometriosis,
the obesity. The excessive losses without causes are known
as "uterine bleeding by dysfunction "and usually
they go along with cycles without ovulation. They happen
generally in the first stages of the menstruation or from
35 years of age. Discarded the possibility of a serious
problem of health, the excessive periods can be due to low
iron, zinc, vitamin B, coverall B6 and A. It is important
to ingest rich foods in iron and coverall vegetables of
green leaves. Aromatherapy: the massages with essential
oils of geranium, cypress are good and rose.

5)
Menopause
Menopause means the end of the menstrual period. It can
occur behind schedule before the forty years (premature
menopause) or about the sixty's. what is considered normal?
It is about fifty years of age. The Menopause is a normal
stage of life.
It
is the end of a cycle that began in the dawn of youth. What
it happens is that it has been spoken and created as much
fantasy around it that has turned it almost a disease, in
a suffering. Everything in life has a principle and an aim,
the menopause is a cycle that is closed and can cause certain
disadvantages by the hormonal changes that occur in the
organism, but the majority has more to do with the emotional
part, more than with the physiological side.
This
does not mean to deny its existence, simply it is to accept
it and to journey it like so allowing ourselves to live
it not suffering. Previous the hormonal changes to the menopause
can produce swelling in the body by liquid retention. Forgetfulness,
stupefaction, great need to eat sweet and "rich"
things. It is normal to feel sadness, depression, irritability,
and hypersensitivity.
Surely
a different optics and an education from the childhood allows
to accept the physical changes, and therefore psychic, like
normal stages of the life, would avoid big range of symptoms.
The own hormonal change of the menopause can produce vaginal
dryness, that returns more painful the sexual relations,
heat accesses, nocturnal perspiration, dry skin, cramps,
varicose veins, sensible and sore sinus, pains in the joints,
anxiety, depression and osteoporosis. Natural or alternative
remedies.
-
A rich diet in soybean, giving priority to tofu.
- The soybean has a balancing effect of the hormonal system.
- The Isoflavonas is a substance in the soybean and increases
in fermented products, they are obtained in tablet form
dry extract of soybean. Usually they come combined with
medicinal herbs, that reinforces for their concentration,
the positive effect of the soybean ingestion.
- To take infusions from: White hawthorn, Ortega or salvia.
- To include in the diet leavening of virgin beer.
- To eat apples, pears, tomatoes, dry plums, grape, dates,
that contribute Boron.
This minerals helps to retain calcium and magnesium and
increases the estrogens levels. .

The
woman, the Moon and its Cycles
The menstrual cycle is classically of 28 days, although
in fact this is thus in a 40% of the women, since in a 30%
they are "long", in a 30% are just "short",
and in a 10% they are "irregular" or "variables".
The classic rate of 28 days is a rate similar to the one
of the lunar phases, that manifests 13 times a year (28días
x 13= 364días = 1 year approx). This gave the idea
that the menstrual cycle was associate directly with the
lunar cycle (idea that has gone by to the present time),
and by this supposed relation with the star, menstruation
was called moon.

7)
The cycles of the moon
From the most remote antiquity the human activity recognizes
the influence of the moon. We can in our days take advantage
of this old wisdom. At the moment we know that the Full
Moon and decisive influence so much in the growth of the
plants like in health. In the middle of month, the human
organism behaves like the small ocean, since the 70 or 80
percent of he himself this made up of water (in the women
the percentage is still greater).
The moment arrives from Full Moon, and a succession of morning
and night tides in our body takes place. The most obvious
example of the effects caused by the periodic changes of
the moon, is the menstruation of the women.
The experience if the menstruation arrives in the middle
of month, increasing moon, will be but abundant, and on
the contrary if it happens in declining moon, in the period
of descendent tide. According to the Chinese traditional
medicine, the circulation of the blood and the vital energy
bears one narrow relation to the lunar periods. By this
it is precise regular and to before stimulate the flow of
the vital energy and the blood and after the menstruation.
New Moon: Black moon, related to the archetype of the wise
person, the witch. It is a stage of deep inner transformation,
of the dark in which all the forms of the existence are
generated. It is a little passive, of introspection, when
the physical energies are to the minimum, but all the psychic
ones are activate. It is perfect to get ride of old and
the unsuitable thing, and to feel, to be in silence and
to perceive the energy of everything what it surrounds us,
to leave the action and to be receptive.
When the moon begins to grow arrives the best moment to
undertake any idea, project or desire that has arisen from
this state of meditation, arrives the time to seed. This
stage contains the impulse for the later phase of growth.
Increasing moon: The light grows. This associate with the
archetype of the virgin, the one that is receptive to any
new experience, with emphasis and joy. Here the energies
begin to pronounce themselves that we have received in the
stage of the witch. It is a time of physical and social
action, to get us in movement. Now the energy is radiating,
worldly, and extrovert. The seed that we planted has appeared.
Full Moon: The moon is a mirror, reflects all the light
of the Sun, it is the moment of blossoming fullness, the
time of the fruits. This phase we associated it to the archetype
of the mother, the one that nourishes and sustains all the
forms of life. The energy is in its maximum splendour. If
at this moment we are balanced we can perceive the subtle
and elevated energies but, to catch the relations with the
others of a simple, human form and total. In this stage
increases our sensitivity.
Declining moon: It is the moment for gathering the fruits,
to evaluate what we seeded conscious and unconsciously.
Phase associated to the archetype of princess. The one that
fearlessly can experience the sexual energy, freely.
Between the Full Moon and the New Moon, the body tends to
eliminate toxins, optimising the effects of a purifying
diet. The lunar cycle is closed, and in this stage we began
to again direct all the energy towards our interior. It
is hour to purify, to relax to us, to centre us, and to
share what we have learned, and to connect with our desires
to return to seed..
